Why do transportation companies charge a 20% driver's minimum?
A standard fee in the private transportation business is a 20% fee for the driver, clean up crew, and miscellaneous fees. This is a minimum service fee for your driver just as restaurants charge for parties over 6. It is there to help simplify billing giving you a bottom line price for transportation up front with your grand total. Of course, when youre driver exceeds your expectations you are welcome to provide an additional gratuity, but it is not expected.
Please note that the 20% is not a tip for the driver. It is placed in their checks and part of this fee also goes towards airport parking ($20), highway tolls ($6+) and the clean-up crew. If you have any questions feel free to email or call us today!
